“Interestingly Uninterested Couple”

Let me introduce you to a very interesting couple who were actually not interested with each other. What to say, their life and the incidents they were a part of or created themselves are worth mentioning. I came to know about them through one of my friend Tony and later became a part of their life. So here it goes.

Mike was a software engineer, who was doing well at his work and family. He was loved by all and quite popular among his friends. On the other hand there was a girl, Tina, beautiful, sexy and intelligent, actually a very rare combination. We actually don’t get any girls in this package anymore. I had attended their marriage a few years ago along with Tony. It was a very grand and beautifully arranged marriage. I liked the entire setup. Everything was good except that I noticed a very rare thing that, both the bride and bridegroom’s parents were tensed the entire evening. I felt as though they were very sure that this marriage will break any time next moment. So, that made me rush to the dinner table so that I could finish the dinner before I hear any bad news because of which I may have to leave the hall before I even finish my dinner. But nothing as such happened everything went on well Mike and Tina got married happily. On their wedding night Mike and Tina were feeling very uncomfortable, far more uncomfortable than the usually married couples. They went to an extent of deciding not to touch each other and go to sleep. Neither did they speak much nor tried to understand each other. Mike felt that, may be she was not ready yet or maybe she had an affair and still loved someone else. Tina was rather happy that she dint had to give much examination to Mike for not being comfortable. But both of them went to sleep happily, very strange but true.

It was early next morning that they opened there doors and realized that all the relatives had gathered to greet the newly wedded couple. As we all know what kind of naughty and interesting thoughts that will be going on in our relatives’ minds. Their eyes will ask all questions “How was the night, naughty or interesting?” “Who won the battle” “Did they do anything? They look so fresh” etc. alongside in one corner of their mind they will be thinking of their own first nights and will be controlling and enjoying, but will never show on their faces. Anyways like all couples even these two had to go through the naughty and dangers questions. Somehow both of them managed the situation and no one came to know that actually nothing had happened last night. Everything seemed to be fine to their parents and they were so happy as if they had made some impossible thing possible. It was like they were expecting some bravery award for this.

A few days passed by and they left for their honey moon. They started talking to each other, but on all general stuff. Is honey moon meant for talking all general stuff? I thought it was for far better things. Anyways one fine evening they were passing by a park were they saw a couple, deep in love, they were least bothered about the surroundings and were getting cozy in each other’s arms. Now I don’t have to tell you what they were doing in each other’s arms, we all know, that’s what I believe. Mike started staring at the couple, not to forget the girl was cute and the guy was dashing. Tina started feeling uncomfortable or rather jealous and pulled Mike away from the scene. They tried to enjoy their so called honey moon trip and came back home. Let’s not talk on the particulars of what they did or/and what they could have done.

Two years went by, they lived together and they still remained 2 and not 3. I mean they had no children, like expected all the relatives were keen to know what the problem could be, any medical issues or any personal issues. They were all confused, Mike’s parents took them to best of the best doctors but nothing happened. People like me had different thoughts going on in their mind like do they have fair idea about sex? or are they literate with an illiteracy tag on sex education. On repeated investigations one of their common friends, Tony came to know that the duo never had sex till date. So now Tony had to give a solution or rather become the hero of the movie and think of a plan for the couple. Tony just recalled his childhood days when he had very innocently asked his parents “From where do kids come into this world?”. For which, like all our parents his parents also told a lie that, when we pray to god he listens to our prayers and one fine night he comes to the parents and hands over a beautiful child wrapped in decorated bucket of flowers. But as we grew, we all came to know how we all actually came into this world. Our dear parents lie to us so much and expect all truth from us when we grow up. Ridiculous. Anyways, Tony decided that he will take duo through a sex education class as he was not sure if they actually knew all about sex. He decided that he will take the twosome on a honey moon trip once again so that they feel more comfortable, understand each other and enjoy each other’s company and experiment on all the staffs they have learnt in the sex education sessions. So keeping the plan up to the mark Tony arranged for best of the best hotel in Bangalore booked 4 tickets for himself, Mike, Tina and Tina’s friend Ria so that everything goes well at their second honeymoon. Tony and Ria accompanied them for support.

All four of them reached Bangalore went to their rooms freshened up and came for lunch. Meanwhile when I came to know that they were in Bangalore I planned to meet them all for dinner that evening. So after lunch Tony and Ria spoke to Mike and Tina, gave them some motivation and left them in their room. Tony and Ria planned to have a short walk to market and then to a park nearby. After few hours Tony and Ria came back to the hotel and were desperate to check with Mike and Tina if everything went fine. Keeping their fingers crossed they went up to their room and knocked the door. Tina opened the door and invited Tony and Ria to come in. Tony had a quick look at the bed, the bed was neat and clean which created doubts in his mind. “Where is Mike?” asked tony. “He left room long back, I don’t know where he is” replied Tina. Tony was confused he saw all his plans going in vain. Tony immediately called up Mike then rushed to the common men’s loo. He entered the loo and slowly called “Tony, are you there?”. One of the bathroom doors was open and when tony peeped in, he say Mike sitting under the shower (With his cloths on) depressed and crying. Tony could feel that he was hurt very badly. He asked “What’s the matter?” “What happened?” “Why are you crying?”, that was the end of Mikes patience, he started “she cares for me so much, she keep all my things ready before I ask, she has never asked me for anything, always adjusted with what I had and what I shared with her and I am so selfish that I cannot give her the love that she deserves”. Tony’s level of understanding had gone for a toss. He was totally confused now. All his senses were running at a speed of 140 KMPH. Tony asked “Mike, if everything is fine then what’s the problem?” Mike looked into Tony’s eyes and said “I am attracted to men, I like men, I am a gay!”. For a second Tony could not understand what Mike was trying explain. He asked once again “What are you saying mike?” Tony said “yes I am gay and you heard it right”. There was pin drop silence for 10 seconds and when they both looked around I was standing at the door with a shock. My eyeballs were half out of my eyes, my hands were on my mouth preventing the voice to come out and I was standing still.  After a minute or so, me and tony realized that we had to console Mike and get some way out of this. After discussing a lot we decided that Mike had to disclose this secret to Tina. “You have to speak the truth, you have to tell tina about this, you can’t ruin tina’s life like this” said Tony. Mike got up and said “Let’s face this, I am going to tell tina everything, Lets go”, Mike started walking towards his room. We just followed him. It was like a tsunami (Mike) was heading towards the room; it will break the door and swipe away all (Tina’s) happiness leaving behind an expected dry life for all. Mike kept his hand on the handle of the door, took a deep breath and pushed it to open. The door opened and even before Mike could start talking he realized that Tina and Ria were sitting on the sofa, Ria was sitting in Tina’s lap, they were very close to each other so close that they could feel each other’s heartbeat. To be more precise they were kissing each other. There was an intimate scene going on between Tina and Ria. When they realized that Mike and all of us were in the room they got up and stood straight. Tony was about to faint as he could not take such sudden shocks, that too 2 in a row on the same day or rather in the same hour!. Mike was staring at Tina and Ria. I stood speechless and an imaginary cloud came on my head in which Mike was singing the song “Yahi aprad(Mistake) mein har bar karta hoon, admi hoon admi se pyar karta hoon(Every time I repeat the same mistake, I am a man and I end up loving a man)” on the other hand Tina was continuously repeating a single dialogue “Ek aurath hi ek aurath ko samaj sakti hai (only a women can understand another woman)”. So let’s come out of my cloud now. The situation was fully tensed. Mike ran up to Tina hugged her tightly and said “Dear, look into my eyes”. Tina was afraid, she slowly looked up into Mike’s eyes. Mike said “Don’t worry dear, I like men, that’s the reason I never came close to you, I am a Gay”. As soon as Tina heard this she smiled and jumped and hugged both Mike and Ria. It was like a whole set of likeminded people had gathered to celebrate the gay rights. Oh god you are really a creator, you create things out of nothing.

So now you can understand that Mike was staring at the dashing guy in the park in their first honeymoon and tina was attracted towards the cute girl which made her uncomfortable and lead her to move out of the scene so that she could control herself. Never to forget, now we understand why both of their parents were so happy after Mike and Tina’s first night. If everything would had normally happened on first wedding night (sex). Mike’s and Tina’s parents should have indeed got a bravery award. But the destiny had its own games to play! ;).
